United Guilds Service at St Pauls
On behalf of The Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral and the Chairman of the United Guilds’ Service, it is with great regret that owing to the prevailing nationwide situation regarding the risks of COVID-19, I must convey their joint decision to cancel this year’s United Guilds Service.
In addition to official sources of advice, particular factors that informed this decision included the scale of the event and the potential for restrictions on gatherings and movement over the coming fortnight. There are no plans to re-schedule the event this year but it is with strong resolve that we shall look forward to our Service in 2021.
St Paul’s remains open for worship and prayer, subject to government and Church of England advice.
At present, the Company hopes to still hold the lunch at Watermen’s Hall, but this may change due to government advice and/or the health of Watermen’s Hall/Cook and Butler catering staff.
If there is any change we will advise you as soon as possible.
If any of you wish to cancel, you may do so up to midday Friday, 20th March – less than minimum numbers would also necessitate cancelling the lunch.
