17th May Court of Bindings at 10:00hrs

Court Members and those to be bound. Dress is suit and tie or men, smart casual for ladies. Court dress for Court Members.

17th May Court of Admission at 11:00hrs

This Court will admit Freemen who are apprentices out of their time and who are qualified Boatmasters with endorsement and who have been examined for the Freedom, the Company admits Freemen particularly those who wish to enter Doggett’s Coat and Badge Wager. Attendance at this Court is for Court Members and those to be admitted. Dress is suit and tie for men and smart casual for ladies. Court dress for Court Members. 17th May Draw for Stations – Doggett’s 2020 at 12:00hrs

This is the draw for stations for the first of two Doggett’s Wagers in 2021 as we catch up, the first is the 2020 Wager. There are four contestants James Berry, Coran Cherry, Max Cater-Miller and George Gilbert. They are all looking forward to the draw to find their station for the Wager on the 25th June. Attendance at the Draw is for competitors and Wager officials.

Dress is suit and tie for men and smart casual for ladies.

17th May First River Thames Lunch Club of 2021 at 12:30 for 13:00hrs

The River Thames Lunch Clubs (RTLC) will be held every Friday between 17th May until the end of July. Open to everyone including the public, initially tables of no more than 6 from the same household. 19th May Master, Wardens and Chairmen’s Dinner at 19:00 for 19:30hrs

25th May Master’s River Inspection at 11:00hrs boarding at Butlers Wharf

Once a year, the Master takes the Court on a River Inspection to keep Court Members up to date with works and facilities on the River used by vessel operators. Attendance is by invite for Court Members only at a cost of £90. Dress is suit and tie for men. Smart casual for Ladies.

27th May Journeymen Freemen’s Dinner at 18:30 for 19:00hrs

A dinner for Journeymen Freemen and their guests at Watermen’s Hall. For men, lounge suits and tie. For Ladies smart casual. Three courses and wine £49. To apply for tickets email events@watermenshall.org Numbers are limited to 36. A Flyer with an application form available on the website.

Lunch for Craft-Owning Freemen with numbers are limited to 36 on tables of 6. You can let us know if you would like to bring guests and once Freemen are accommodated, we will contact you if we can accommodate guests. Dress is suit and tie for men. For Ladies smart casual. 3rd June Past Masters Lunch at 12:30 for 13:00

It has been a recent tradition to invite Past Masters to lunch together. On this occasion, it is hoped all the Masters (now Past Masters) that were served by our retiring Clerk, Colin Middlemiss, will be able to come for a farewell lunch. Past Masters have been invited directly at a cost of £75. Dress is suit and tie for men. Ladies smart Casual.

16th June Knollys Rose Ceremony procession starting at 11:00hrs from All Hallows by the Tower in Byward Street.

This traditional ceremony starts with a procession to Mansion House of the Master, Wardens, Freemen and some parishioners of All Hallows by the Tower at All Hallows Church. Numbers will limited to no more than 30. There may be room for guests once Freemen are accommodated. At the Mansion House, the procession ends with the Master presenting the Lord Mayor with a red rose. A drinks reception follows. More about the history of this event can be found in a leaflet available from Watermen’s Hall. Tickets for the procession and ceremony are available price £20 per head reduction available for children. A Flyer with an application form will follow. Dress for suit and tie for men and smart casual for ladies. Court Members in Court dress.

16th June Knollys Rose Luncheon at Watermen’s Hall at 12:30 for 13:00hrs

Once the ceremony is over, those Freemen and Guests booked in for Lunch return to Watermen’s Hall. Tickets for lunch are £70 or £90 for procession, ceremony and lunch. A Flyer with an application form will follow. Dress is suit and tie for men, smart casual for ladies. Court Members in Court dress.

The first of two Doggett’s events this year as we catch up. We will board at Tower Pier 10:00hrs and return at 12:30hrs.

Refreshments will be served onboard whilst we watch the race. Lunch will be served at Watermen’s Hall, a short walk from Tower Pier. Dress for men and ladies Smart casual. A Flyer with an application form will follow.

28th June Examining Committee at 11:00hrs

This is for apprentices out of their time who are qualified Boatmasters with endorsements who wish to become Journeymen Freemen. Those wishing to be examined need to contact training@watermenshall.org for an application form.

29th June Court Visit to Hastings

The Master leads a party of Court Members on a summer visit to the Company’s Almshouses at Hasting. Court Members will be invited directly, timings to be announced. Dress suits and Ties.

We could not hold our usual Annual Dinner in February so this event replaces it. More details and an application form for tickets will follow in due course.
