The Thames Barge Driving Trust is pleased to host an evening dedicated to the history of working lightermen and the Barge Drives across the decades.

The event will feature a talk and a short film exploring the traditions, challenges, and people behind the lighterage trade. Guests will have the opportunity to reminisce and reflect while listening to first-hand accounts from a variety of Freemen who played a significant role in shaping the trade.  This evening offers a valuable insight into the heritage of the Thames, celebrating the enduring legacy of the Barge Drives and those who kept and continue to keep the river working.

This event is open to the public at £15 per person*  

Doors open 18:15hrs – 20:00hrs
