Your visit begins with an optional hall tour at 13:00hrs, followed by reception drinks from 14:00hrs. Afternoon tea will then be served, allowing you to relax and indulge until 16:00hrs.
About our Hall
Built in 1780 by William Blackburn, Watermen’s Hall remains the only original Georgian hall in the City of London.
The Hall’s elegance is characterised by 18th century domestic architecture, however, the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames dates back much earlier. The Company was established by an Act of Parliament in 1555 to regulate Watermen and wherrymen carrying passengers by boat under oars on the River Thames.
