Doggetts 2020

For the first time since World War II, we have more than one Doggett’s Coat and Badge Wager scheduled for this year. The race – a gruelling 7400 metre course, unchanged since its inception in 1715 – was sadly postponed in 2020 as a result of coronavirus, but it has not been cancelled once in it’s 300 year history, so this year we will hold two races: the delayed 2020 race and the 2021 race.

We currently  have four oarsmen confirmed for the 2020 Wager, which is now planned to take place 25th June 2021.

Check out our interviews with some of the competitors here.

Keep an eye out for interviews with our other competitors in the coming months. And in the meantime, if you want to learn more about the Doggett’s Coat and Badge Wager, visit our pages, or the Thames Festival Trust website for a documentary and aural histories.
