Tudor Pull

Held on Sunday 23rd of  April 2017 the Tudor Pull is a ceremonial event for Thames Watermen’s Cutters which is organized each year by the Thames Traditional Rowing Association (TTRA) The cutters are dressed in  full regalia, with  crews of four rowing the 34-feet long 18th century-style cutters from Hampton Court Palace to the Tower of London.

The ‘Stela’, a piece of medieval water piping made from a hollowed tree trunk, is delivered by H M The Queen’s Barge master, Mr Paul Ludwig – to the Governor of the Tower for safekeeping. The Company’s cutter The Lady Mayoress took part in this magnificent procession with the Master, Mr John Salter on board.
